Puneet Desai

I am a Mumbai-based photographer specializing in contemporary wedding photography and film-making. A Chartered Accountant by qualification with a thriving career in coaching, I was always passionate about art. When this calling of my heart became too much to ignore, I decided to leave the safe shores of my job to pursue my love for photography and films. Dreamcatchers Photography® was born as a part of my unending quest for creating meaningful imagery. We have been privileged to be a part of 250+ unique wedding stories from more than 18 cities and 3 countries so far and have been fortunate to win a few prestigious awards including Fearless, Reportage, WedAward and WeddingSutra.
Apart from photography, I love traveling, reading and am passionate about cricket.
I shoot with Fujifilm XT4s with Fujinon 50mm f1.0, 35mm f1.4, 23mm f1.4, and 16mm f1.4.

My travels and my documentary work involves interacting with people and being unobtrusive while also keeping weight and bulk of my equipment to a minimum. All these factors combined with excellent image characteristics made me jump into the Fuji system with the X100S in 2013. Over the next few years, I travelled extensively with it and eventually, completely switched form DSLRs to the Fujifilm Mirrorless system. I now use them exclusively for all my work. For me the X System gets out the way and allows the photographer to actualize the vision while at the same time provides the quality and technological support needed for professional work. The design and usability makes the cameras invisible and helps it to gel well with documentary and travel photography to the point that I think it becomes an extension of the eye.
