GFX ETERNA 55 supports 4:3 Open Gate recording, fully utilizing the expansive imaging area of its large format sensor.
In addition to FUJINON GF and Premista lenses, it also supports 8K/4K DCI recording with standard 35mm compatible PL lenses. Moreover, it is compatible with anamorphic lenses and Super 35 format lenses, allowing filmmakers to freely select the desired field of view according to their creative vision.
Combining the rich visual expression unique to a large sensor with broad compatibility across lens types and formats, this camera becomes a powerful creative tool – expanding the freedom of filmmaking to new heights.

Apple ProRes HQ, renowned for its reliability in post-production workflows, is the main recording codec on GFX ETERNA 55.
It offers a perfect balance of high-quality image fidelity and robust editing performance, enabling a seamless workflow from on set to final finishing. Covering up to 8K at 30fps, 4K at 60fps, and HD at 120fps, GFX ETERNA 55 records the rich tonal range and color of its large format sensor in formats optimized for any scenario.

GFX ETERNA 55 is designed to accommodate both V-Mount and Fujifilm’s NP-W235 batteries. While using a V-Mount battery as the main power source, the NP-W235 battery can be mounted simultaneously, enabling hot-swapping of the V-Mount battery without interrupting power during shooting*1 . Additionally, the NP-W235 battery alone provides approximately 30 minutes*2 of continuous operation, offering flexible options for short shoots or situations requiring reduced weight, such as drone or gimbal mounting.

The use of high-speed CFexpress Type B cards as the primary recording media delivers a smooth, stable recording performance that comfortably handles high-resolution 8K/30p footage and high-bit-rate formats such as ProRes HQ. Additionally, a secondary SD card slot is provided allowing backup recording to the SD card when using H.265.
