Equipped with a newly developed back-illuminated approximately 40.2-megapixel “X-Trans™ CMOS 5 HR” sensor and updated image processing algorithm to improve resolution while maintaining a high S/N ratio. “X series” realizes the highest image quality ever. In addition, the new sensor has an improved pixel structure that allows it to capture more light efficiently. ISO125 can be used as a normal sensitivity, making it ideal for shooting outdoors in the daytime and taking advantage of bokeh effects with a bright lens.

By installing a new sensor, it is possible to control the exposure time with higher accuracy. The fastest shutter speed of the electronic shutter has been extended from 1/32000 seconds of the previous model (*2) by approximately 2.5 steps to 1/180000 seconds. In addition to being able to shoot with the aperture wide open using a large-aperture lens even in environments with strong glare, such as on a sunny beach or on a slope, it is also possible to capture a moment in a studio. Pixel shift multishot

By automatically shifting the image sensor with ultra-high precision using the in-body image stabilization function, 20 images can be obtained with a single shutter release. Furthermore, by processing the acquired images using the dedicated software “Pixel Shift Combiner”, it is possible to generate images of approximately 160 million pixels, making it ideal for commercial photography and digital archiving of cultural assets.

Smooth skin effect

The “Smooth Skin Effect” that automatically retouches the skin is installed for the first time in the “X series”. You can reduce the time and effort required for retouching portrait photos, etc., and create high-quality image data in a shorter time.

Meeting the needs of professional video production with enhanced video performance

Supports 8K/30P 4:2:2 10bit video recording for the first time in the “X series” (*3). Adopting the same heat dissipation structure as the “X-H2s”, it enables 8K/30P video recording of approximately 160 minutes (*4). In addition, the “4K HQ” mode, which generates high-quality 4K video from the abundant amount of 8K data, is also newly installed. Digital zoom function

Newly equipped with a digital zoom function (*9) that can be used when shooting movies. Digital zoom of up to 2x is achieved without compromising resolution even when a fixed focal length lens is attached. Also, when combined with the XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR interchangeable lens that supports electric zoom, you can seamlessly switch from optical zoom to digital zoom for smooth image expression.

Equipped with advanced AF to accurately capture the subject

Up to 4 cameras can be connected/operated simultaneously. By combining the separately sold accessory File Transmitter “FT-XH”, you can achieve a remote recording function via wired LAN/wireless LAN (*13). Simultaneously connect up to 4 “X-H2S”/”X-H2” and enable the following operations from the browser.
