I get inspired by Tamil cinema, Chennai, life with family and friends, social media and need for change. Emotions and human connections have been my motivation to pursue photography in a candid format. My aim is to document memories rather than produce memorabilia.
Like many other millennial South-Indian twenty something youth, I pursued mechanical engineering, gaining expertise on the job with coding, software and the like. I also landed me at a leading MNC in Chennai for a while. But as we speak, I can tell you, my heart lay elsewhere, not in code or the cubicles. This took me to my dream world of capturing life through my lens. My worldview shifted from being grey and monotonous to colourful and filled with surprises.
What started as a hobby is now my life and career. I am fortunate to capture many intimate and precious moments through my lens and I must say, I enjoy every single bit of it. I like walking the journey of a couple’s big day or a mother’s love for her children. I do not mind the hours or the tedious planning, the smiles on my clients faces or the love they receive from their near and dear ones make it all worth it. Events like weddings, dance performances and the like has given me an opportunity to refine and pursue candid photography in the finest of its features. Rare moments lie in those that include every single detail. A keen eye and right timing to these details are skills that I am constantly striving to improve every step of the way.
I am liberal with my work. Please don’t hesitate to ask me questions or leave me a note. Thank you for stopping by. Hope to hear from you constantly.

TESTIMONIAL

My travels and my documentary work involves interacting with people and being unobtrusive while also keeping weight and bulk of my equipment to a minimum. All these factors combined with excellent image characteristics made me jump into the Fuji system with the X100S in 2013. Over the next few years, I travelled extensively with it and eventually, completely switched form DSLRs to the Fujifilm Mirrorless system. I now use them exclusively for all my work. For me the X System gets out the way and allows the photographer to actualize the vision while at the same time provides the quality and technological support needed for professional work. The design and usability makes the cameras invisible and helps it to gel well with documentary and travel photography to the point that I think it becomes an extension of the eye.
